As many of us know, when you start shopping for new headphones it’s easy to become overwhelmed. You will quickly find that there are endless options out there on the market. There are many choices to suit a range of lifestyles, whether you’re looking for a sturdy pair of headphones for studio use, noise-cancelling for gaming or other activities, or lightweight wireless sports headphones, there is a pair of headphones out there for you. This review is going to take a look at a pair of wireless sports headphones by the SOL Republic.

Features

The SOL Republic Sports Wireless in-ear Bluetooth headphones are a top contender in their $50-$100 dollar price range. These headphones are available straight from the company which helps keep the price affordable. They are in the $50 to $100 range and size up the other headphones in this bracket.

These in-ear sports headphones are wireless for a tangle-free experience and have integrated Bluetooth. Bluetooth allows you to pair conveniently to your devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Being wire-free makes them ideal for sports; you can listen to all your favorite tunes while running with these SOL Republic headphones and never worry about the wires.

Built-in is a snap-on clip for your clothing to keep them in place and keep the buttons accessible. These sports headphones have three buttons for volume control, playback control, and call answering.

No dealing with fussy wires, the headphones have a built-in bracket that shortens and holds the cord so you can customize the fit exactly for optimal comfort.

These wireless, Bluetooth headphones offer an outdoor listening mode as well as an indoor mode. In noisy environments, you may lose some of the audio range, but the outdoor style seeks to increase the bass to fill in some of the missing spectra.

After charging your headphones for just 10 minutes, you can get an hour of play time from the battery, with a full charge taking only around one hour. Once fully charged, the battery on these Bluetooth headphones can last up to 8 hours, plenty of time for sports and other activities.

Design

SOL Republic Relays Sport Wireless earbuds buy

Many wireless headphones house the control buttons on the earbuds leading them to be heavy, awkward, and prone to falling out of your ears – especially during activities such as sports.

The brilliance of the technology is that the SOL Republic Sports Wireless in – ear Bluetooth headphones house their battery on one side of the wires and the electric controls on the opposite. This set-up also allows for easier use of the buttons, without the hassle of removing the earbuds.

These fun, versatile headphones come in several different stylish colors, so there is something to choose for everyone.

The SOL Republic Sport Wireless headphones are supposed to be water and sweat resistant, a very desirable feature for a product labeled for sports use. Time will tell how well these headphones will hold up to sweat damage, as other sports headphones can have a tendency to fail in this area.

One attractive feature is that these sports headphones are designed to be lightweight and sit on your neck which cuts down on bouncing and other annoyances that come with other sports headphones.

Along with being designed to rest comfortably, these wireless Bluetooth headphones also allow you to shorten or lengthen the cord to your preference.

Although designed to be lightweight, they may be too lightweight. Due to the fit and nature of the make, these headphones don’t always stay in as well as hoped, especially when things start to get sweaty.

One major design flaw is the flimsy rubber covering for the ports, it falls out quickly and is then lost forever, leaving your ports open to dust, debris, and sweat.

Sound

These great sounding in-ear wireless headphones pack a punch with powerful audio. They deliver a good kick of bass without being too bass-heavy, they relay highs smoothly without shattering your ears, and the lows come through with a substantial boom.

To be sure, they don’t capture all the full audio spectrum has on offer, and as such may not be the headphones for audiophiles, but for the casual wearer, they offer an exceptional sound experience.

The music experience is somewhat customizable with the extra silicone ear-tips that are included. Ear-tips that are tighter fitting will produce a sharper, more up-close sound that delivers on highs and lows. The looser fitting tips offer a more gentle sound, but you may experience sound leakage as the seal will not be as tight in your ear.

CONCLUSION

The SOL Republic Relays Sport Wireless In-ear Bluetooth headphones are a decent product for the price range. The sound won’t sweep you off your feet by any means, but they do offer a full-bodied sound in a lightweight package.

The sweatproof design makes them perfect for going to the gym or going for a run. While they lack in wow-factor and accessories, they are an excellent headphone.
