Focal might not be a name that most of you out there are familiar with, but the truth is, they produce some of the best speakers and headphones in the world. The French-based company made its large debut with the Focal Grand Utopia EM Hi-Fi speakers, which are priced at a whopping $220.000 and they are considered to be the best on the market.
Now, Focal is doing the same, but for personal audio instead, with the launch of the Focal Utopia headphones priced at $3999 and a much more affordable option, the Focal Listen headphones, which is priced at $249. The Focal Listen is a full-size headphone that is designed to work with smartphones. The remote has one button and there’s a microphone integrated into the cord, which by the way is detachable. The button has multiple uses: skipping tracks forward and backwards, play and pause functionality and to answer and end phone calls.

Taking a look at the design, it’s not too stylish, but offers a very comfortable fit. The plush earpads are great at providing comfort and you won’t experience wearing fatigue after longer periods of use.
The Focal listen weights 0.6 pounds (273 grams) and has a 40mm Mylar/titanium drive. A carrying case is also provided and the cord length is specified at 4,6 feet (1,4 meters). The Focal Listen headphones aren’t exactly cheap at $249, but Focal is a brand known for making high-quality products, and the sound quality was exceptional on this one. Nonetheless, it’s a great deal for the price, which is also applies to the other Focal products launched, the $4000 Focal Utopia and the $1000 Focal Elear.
